TODAY WE DESIGN, MANUFACTURE AND BUILD OUR GUNS IN HOUSE AT TWO FACTORY’S BASED IN SCOTLAND.
Our main workshops are located at Ugie Lodge, Longside in the heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside. Here we have an advanced machining facility where we make all the components and parts need to create our guns. We also carry out the stocking and finishing process here.
Our second workshop is located at Kilmarnock in Ayrshire where the actioning, jointing and fitting of all mechanical parts of our guns is taken place. The ‘in the white’ guns are then shipped back to Ugie Lodge where we undertake stocking, regulation, and engraving preparation. The polished actions are then sent to the client-chosen engraver. Eventually comes the finishing process, which is again, all done in house. This includes colour-case hardening, final polish and regulation, gold plating of interior lockwork, barrel blacking (after being proofed at the London Proof house) and oil finishing of the woodwork.
Our Ugie Lodge headquarters combine the latest manufacturing capabilities along with the traditional gun making processes of generations before. Our on-site testing facilities and range allow us to check function and accuracy at every step of the build process. All of our guns and rifles are nitro proof tested at the London Proof House. If requested, our new design of superior steel proof barrels can be made to your specification – including legitimate full steel chokes, not equivalent of lead half choke but full lead choke – the first of its kind in the UK.
Our small and talented team are dedicated to the manufacture of our products to the highest possible standards using the finest materials available:
